Associate Product Manager | Fort Worth, TX

The Associate Product Manager position is an intermediate career development role that provides individuals who possess the competencies and experience base to develop into a Product Manager position within 12 to 18 months with the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities through direct responsibility for managing a line or commodity type. With coaching and mentoring, this position is accountable for providing the correct mix/inventory levels within company objectives to maximize sales and profits through effective inventory management and purchasing decisions. Position is also accountable for maintaining system integrity, supporting sales to increase business through assisting with obtaining competitive quotes, providing ongoing education/promotion/support to TTI sales organization and for developing and maintaining successful supplier relationships.

Our Associate Product Manager Team:

  • Provides correct mix/inventory levels within company objectives to maximize sales and profits through successful inventory management by effectively utilizing system generated analysis tools and by incorporating independent judgment and decision making to additional input/information from a variety of sources, including but not limited to, market/industry trends, suppliers and the TTI sales organization. Also, directly generates and/or approves purchase orders minimizing stock-outs of A&B items and purchases inventory to achieve maximum quantities at lowest possible cost.
  • Maintains system integrity by ensuring that TTI systems/databases reflect accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date product-related information (increment quantity, minimum order quantities, correct costs, delivery information, etc) for assigned product line or commodity type.
  • Supports sales to increase business and achieve total customer satisfaction by working directly with suppliers on quotes to obtain the most competitive position possible.
  • Enhances the image of TTI in the marketplace as the distributor of choice by effectively performing all job accountabilities and by developing and maintaining successful supplier relationships.
  • Supports Director Product Marketing/ Product Manager in efforts to effectively market line or commodity type by providing ongoing education/promotion when interacting with TTI sales organization, by offering input/recommendations regarding new product offerings and by assisting in any way possible with the development and implementation of marketing plans.
  • Processes and resolves accounting, receiving and customer rejected concerns in an expeditious manner by researching the issue, determining appropriate resolution and by providing disposition for nonconforming product to the appropriate parties.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School or General Education Degree (GED) required. Bachelors Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 1+ years applicable work experience (e.g. Buyer, Inside Sales Representative, Program Manager) in a related industry required with a demonstrated history of successful performance.

What we look for:

  • Working knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, the TTI purchasing system and trend analysis preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook) at the intermediate level preferred.
