Teaching:
  • Undergraduate and graduate teaching in chemical, environmental, and general engineering.
  • Strong commitment to teaching excellence, advising, and curriculum development.
  • Experience in biochemical engineering, bioreaction engineering, and related courses is essential.
  • Ability to teach graduate-level environmental engineering courses is highly desirable.

Research:
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to establish a strong, funded research program in their field.
  • Preferred research areas include Batteries, Fuel Cells, Electrolysis, Electrochemical wastewater treatment, Electrocatalysis and Surface Science, Electrochemical Process Engineering, and Corrosion.
  • Evidence of a strong publication record in high-impact journals is required; patents and successful research funding are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Teaching undergraduate and graduate chemical engineering, general engineering, and environmental engineering courses.
2. Developing research in the area of processes related to Electrochemical engineering-related processes mentioned above.
3. Developing other research activities (besides his/her research related to Electrochemical Engineering) to complement the existing research activities in the Department.
4. Supervising undergraduate and graduate student projects/theses.
5. Active involvement with stakeholders and industry.
6. Establishing collaborative research and obtaining competitive research funding.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration across research groups and securing competitive research funding.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. B.S. and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
2. Research and teaching interests that show experience in areas of relevance to the Department’s clusters (research groups).
3. Track record of research funding and the capacity to establish ties to industry or government agencies.

Minimum Qualification:
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in the applicable field. Program assessment skills (ABET or similar) are desired. Proven records of publications and accomplishment of research funding are required. The ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses is a must. Industrial and professional experience is a plus.

Preferred Qualification:
The applicants should have a strong background in the area of biochemical engineering. In addition to the other areas of the chemical engineering curriculum.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience:
Assistant/Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering. Industrial experience or industrial research funding is recommended. Fluency in English as a communication/teaching/research language is a must.

The successful candidate is expected to publish research findings in refereed journals and actively engage in promoting the growth of the QU. Thus, a track record of publications in reputable journals, in addition to successful research funding, are required. Additionally, candidates with a good number of granted patents are preferred.
