Qatar University’s Agricultural Research Station is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Assistant/Associate Professor in Natural Resource Management, with a focus on water, soil, and plant resources. This position is research-oriented, with minimal or no teaching responsibilities. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to innovative research projects addressing critical challenges in natural resource management, focusing on the conservation and sustainable use of resources in agricultural production in arid and semi-arid environments.
1. Conduct independent and collaborative research on water, soil, and plant resource conservation and sustainable agricultural use.
2. Design and implement research studies including fieldwork, laboratory analysis, and data modeling.
3. Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
4. Secure research funding through competitive grants and partnerships.
5. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address sustainability challenges in agriculture.
6. Supervise and mentor students and junior researchers.
7. Engage with farmers, industry stakeholders, and policymakers to apply research in real-world settings.
8. Develop partnerships with communities and stakeholders to ensure research impact.
9. Stay updated on emerging trends in natural resource management.
10. Provide policy recommendations on agriculture, food security, and sustainability.
