Associate (Quality Assurance), Examination Board

Introduction:

The Aga Khan University was found in 1983 as Pakistan’s first private university; Aga Khan University is a not-for-profit institution and an agency of the Aga Khan Development Network. Starting in 2000, the University expanded to Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, United Kingdom and Afghanistan. AKU began life as a health-sciences university.

The Aga Khan University Examination Board (AKU-EB) is the first private-sector university-led trans-provincial Board (awarding body) in Pakistan established through the Ordinance of the Government of Pakistan. The Board offers high-quality examinations for Secondary School (grades 9th and 10th - SSC) and Higher Secondary School (grades 11th and 12th - HSSC/ FSC) qualifications for public and private schools across Pakistan. The Board also offers a Middle School Programme (MSP) for grades 6th–8th students and its registered schools engage a globally accepted approach, Project-Based Learning (PBL) to implement the MSP. PBL is considered as a foundation of the AKU-EB MSP, helping schools foster a sense of purpose and leadership in young learners.

At the heart of AKU-EB’s mission is to shift teaching and learning away from rote learning and move towards higher order thinking, preparing students for higher education and lifelong learning. The Board is evaluated internationally for implementing global best practices, making AKU-EB qualifications credible and recognized globally.

Aga Khan University invites applications for the position Associate (Quality Assurance) in the Examination Board.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible to:

• develop, format, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all departments under AKU-EB
• prepare documentation and reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information from each department
• investigate and establish quality assurance standards for all departments
• record, analyze, and present statistical information in a compiled report
• conduct internal audits of critical processes
• assist with both internal and external audit reviews
• revise all SOPs on a timely basis
• compile reports for each monitored process, including factual data, actions taken, and suggestions
• visit centers and schools in Pakistan as needed
• review Risk Registers and coordinate with departments accordingly.

Requirements:

You should have:

• minimum bachelor's preferably master’s degree
• at least 2 years’ experience in education or relevant field
• strong IT skills and excellent work knowledge of MS-Office application; especially MS-Excel
• good observation skills
• strong focus on Customer Service Orientation Skills
• good communication and presentation skills
• good with data collection, management, and analysis
• capability of working in a team.
