Associate Real Estate Attorney

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Real Estate Transactional Associate to join our growing real estate practice. The ideal candidate will have 1–4 years of experience handling real estate transactions, strong drafting and negotiation skills, and a desire to develop their expertise in commercial and/or residential real estate law. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with partners and clients on a broad range of deals, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and revise real estate documents including purchase & sale agreements, commercial and residential leases, easements, title documents, closing binders, and financing instruments
  • Conduct legal due diligence, including title and survey review, zoning and land use research, and resolution of encumbrances or permitting issues
  • Assist in structuring and negotiating real estate transactions under partner supervision, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Coordinate all aspects of real estate closings, including preparation of closing documents, escrow coordination, and communication with title companies, lenders, and counterparties
  • Support clients with entity formation, joint venture agreements, and other deal-related documentation
  • Maintain organized transaction files, track critical dates, and support internal reporting requirements
  • Stay current on relevant Florida real estate statutes, regulations, and industry trends
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members to ensure timely and accurate deal execution

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of the Florida Bar (or eligible for admission)
  • 1–4 years of real estate transactional experience (law firm, title company, developer, or in-house)
  • Solid understanding of real estate contracts, title/survey matters, financing, and closing processes
  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and eagerness to learn and grow within the practice

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with commercial transactions (e.g., office, retail, industrial, or multifamily)
  • Familiarity with Florida land use and zoning issues
  • Exposure to real estate finance (loan documents, lender negotiations)
  • Proficiency in document management and title software platforms (e.g., SoftPro, Qualia, Closing Insight)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
