We are looking to hire an Associate Scientist immediately at our Technical Innovation Center located at 202-204 Wight Avenue in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

• Project Execution: Plan and co-lead projects, define and assess project requirements, and experimental design.
• Investigating and assessing new ingredients and technologies.
• Provide support for model food system evaluation support to the FONA and the Clean flavor lab team.
• Interface and communicate project status with stakeholders and R&I teammates.

• Education: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience, Master's degree with 2 years' experience. Degree work should be in biology, chemistry, chemical engineering, food science, or related disciplines.
• Technical research experience in the following areas: food ingredients and technologies for food, pharmaceutical, and beverage applications; using various ingredients for taste modification; performing scientific experiments, statistical data analysis, and writing scientific publications; sensory science; data science; bench-top process scale-up and pilot scale processing; customer-focused technology development and project management for technology transfer and commercialization. -
• Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral communications with customers, interdepartmental groups, and business leaders as appropriate. Proven intellectual curiosity and self-starter, collaborative behavior. Ability to influence others and do so in a leadership role.

• BS or MS in Food Science/Technology, Food Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.

• Work Environment Designation: Lab

Base Salary: $53,990 - $94,480

Base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, experience for this role, and/or internal equity of our current employees as part of any final offer. This position is also eligible to participate in McCormick’s Incentive Bonus (MIB) Plan.
