Associate Scientist, Cell Culture

This position can be filled as an Associate Scientist or Scientist I based on candidate experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Mammalian cell culture, sterile media preparation, aseptic technique, and sterile technique.
• Familiar with ELISA & LN2 inventory.
• In charge of clean room suite (maintenance and all cleaning of suite and associated equipment)
• Ability to learn and run roller bottle productions independently.
• Media and reagent inventory
• Understanding of adherent and suspension cell lines, cell banking, ascites production and cell lysates.
• Maintain laboratory space, equipment, and inventory in an appropriate and professional manner.
• Dependable attendance along with the ability to be a flexible and effective team player.
• Demonstrates excellent attention to detail, proactive planning, and ability to organize and carry out tasks with quality in a timely fashion.
• Takes initiative in delivering results on time and responding to needs of the team
• Responds to direction as provided and follows established maintenance of notebook records and documentation standards

Qualifications:

• Knowledge and interest in Biological Sciences
• Understanding of basic immunology concepts
• Critical thinking and analytical skills
• Willing to learn new techniques
• Ability to perform laboratory calculations and conversions
• Ability to work and maintain strong relationships with department managers, team members and other departmental staff.
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Command of the English language, written and oral
• Ability to read and understand Standard Operation Procedures, protocols and templates
• Knowledge of QSR/cGMP guidelines

Education:

• Associate’s degree or 1+ years lab experience
