Role

Responsible for financial analysis, production of investment reports and management of existing investments, you will work directly with the senior members of the public markets investment team, including the CIO. Key skill sets include top-down, macro research and fundamental company analysis. Macro investment ideas are primarily expressed through public equities, with a focus on large cap financials, commodities, and crisis investments in both EM and DM. Candidates should be risk positive with a proven track record of success in their professional and personal lives and should share the values that come with being part of an elite team that takes on challenging assignments.

Responsibilities

We are passionate about business, investment, and country and corporate governance, and we are looking for a motivated, talented individual to join our public markets investment team. Your key responsibilities will include:


Key responsibilities:

  • Idea generation across global markets using top-down investment approach
  • Fundamental analysis and company valuation
  • Technical analysis and investment timing
  • Macro research of countries, sectors and themes
  • Report on portfolio company earnings and corporate actions
  • On-the-ground research
  • Produce monthly, quarterly and bi-annual investment report products
  • Support quarterly and annual reporting for investment portfolio
  • Build relationships within the investment community
  • Work with other business units, such as trading, private markets team, and operating business division, on deal sourcing, relationships and execution


Requirements

The successful candidate will:

  • Have an X-factor in their CV that demonstrates the ability to perform at an elite level
  • Have strong relational skills, able to represent the company well when dealing with external parties
  • Be passionate about financial markets and business
  • Have a proven ability to execute
  • Be very well-spoken, and have a polished and professional appearance
  • Be able to work at speed, and multi-task
  • Be an “energiser” – you have a positive attitude, and do more than just quietly sit at your desk
  • Be meticulous in your attention to detail
  • Be hungry to learn – you will be given the opportunity to do work far beyond the scope of a traditional equity research analyst


Administrative Details

Start date: Immediate

Compensation: Competitive base salary; discretionary bonus

Benefits: Medical insurance; annual leave

Education: Degree from a first-class institution

Experience: 4-6 years (Associate) or 7-10 years (Senior Associate) of investment experience from top-tier institutions

Languages: Excellent command of English required (written and spoken)

Reporting: Reports directly to the UAE Country Head

Travel: Occasional international travel required
