Summary
We're seeking a Software Engineer to join our Digital Messaging Platform team within Genesys Cloud. You'll be part of a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our customer experience digital messaging communication services. The ideal candidate will help drive innovation in our cloud-based email infrastructure while ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of our messaging services.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable messaging processing services within our cloud-based microservice architecture
  • Implement features supporting message routing, delivery, tracking, and analytics
  • Build and maintain integrations with social networks such as Meta and X
  • Participate in on-call rotation to maintain service reliability
  • Contribute to architectural decisions and technical design reviews
  • Write comprehensive automated tests for new features and existing functionality
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1+ years of software engineering experience with Java
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures
  • Proven track record of building fault-tolerant and highly available systems
  • Proficiency in working with REST APIs
  • Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end)
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in distributed teams
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Strong collaboration skills and team-oriented mindset
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Experience working with Meta, X and / or any other social network
  • DynamoDB for message storage and tracking
  • SQS/SNS for asynchronous message processing
  • Lambda for serverless
  • Knowledge of messaging deliverability best practices
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements (GDPR, CAN-SPAM)

The ideal candidate would also have experience with:
  • Amazon Web Services (Dynamo, S3, SQS, SNS, etc.)
  • Java
  • Typescript
  • Git
  • Networking: TCP/IP, subnets, network ACLs, DNS, load balancing
  • Experience with implementing digital channels, e.g., SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Line, WhatsApp
