Transaction Services – Data Analytics Associate

Transaction services creates value. Our Transaction Services (TS) delivery model includes the entire transaction lifecycle supporting clients throughout the lifetime of a deal. TS services include Diligence, Corporate Value Consulting, Strategic Solutions and Tax.


POSITION SUMMARY:

The Data Analytics Associate is responsible for utilizing a blended approach of data analytics tools and business knowledge to develop new approaches to insights and interpretation of large data sets. The associate will develop data driven dashboards to present key performance metrics and drive towards faster, deeper insights. The Data Analytics Associate will also support the development of the data analytics initiative in Transaction Services.

Responsibilities include planning, executing, and completing projects. The Data Analytics Associate works closely with senior associates and managers and plays a key role in client management, practice development, and business development for an assigned group of clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Consolidate and synthesize data into actionable visualizations, focused on insights.
  • Provide observations into behavior, trends, financials and business operations through data analysis and the development of business intelligence visuals.
  • Develop dashboards and clearly articulate the insights reflected
  • Utilize advanced business intelligence tools including complex calculations, table calculations, mapping, data blending and optimization of data extracts.
  • Manage client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines and lead change efforts effectively.
  • Work closely with Grant Thornton teams to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and client relationships in order to provide maximum value to our clients through the delivery of our full solution.
  • Team with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls.
  • Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Statistics or related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of Tableau or Power BI. Certification is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of Alteryx data cleansing software is a plus.
  • CPA or related license/certification is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and simultaneous projects in a rapidly growing practice.
  • Strong leadership, business development, recruitment, training, and mentoring skills.
  • Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work additional hours and/or travel as needed. (~ 30%)
