Associate Utility Pole Designer

**Office-based in Wixom, MI with on-the-job training. After 2-3 months, ability to work-from-home 20% - 40% upon display of independent proficiency**

Job Summary

Perform design elements of electric distribution or communication systems. This work includes the review of field notes and preparation of drawings, specifications and estimates as defined by the client’s scope of work document.

Overview of Duties

With minimal supervision perform a variety of design related duties including but not limited to the following:

· Interpret basic electric construction drawings

· Utilize CAD to draw electrical distribution circuits over digital maps

· Accurately place digital markers within software environment to client specifications

· Quickly and precisely visually recognize and classify electric utility equipment through digital photographs

· Maintain detailed record-keeping within MS Office suite

· Communicate project status updates to internal leadership and clientele.

· Achieve weekly billable goal as defined by the project guidelines.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

· Associate Degree in technical or design field preferred

· Must have a high school diploma.

Experience & Qualifications

· Zero (0) to (2) years of experience in computer-aided design or construction design services.

· Must have a valid driver’s license + clean driving record.

· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

· Must be able to complete a satisfactory background check.

Desired Skills:

· Proficient use and knowledge of computers and software applications desired (MS Office products).

· Ability to quickly learn and adapt.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
