Associate Vice President - Environment, Social & Governance (ESG)

In this role, you will provide expert ESG knowledge, ensuring compliance with regulations and responsible practices. You will develop and implement ESG frameworks, manage multiple projects, and enhance ESG awareness across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Provide expert knowledge and execute initiatives to ensure RAKBANK effectively manages ESG, adhering to regulatory requirements and acting responsibly towards customers, employees, shareholders, and other key stakeholders.
• Support the implementation of ESG risk, Net Zero, and Sustainable Finance initiatives.
• Assist, advise, and execute processes to ensure a consistent approach across the bank in managing ESG effectively.
• Facilitate effective planning and development of ESG control frameworks and address emerging ESG risks.
• Develop and implement documentation and governance for managing ESG.
• Conduct ESG materiality assessments and establish ESG risk assessments across all segments.
• Lead the implementation of various ESG initiatives and review ESG risk assessment outputs.
• Prepare and review ESG-related disclosures, reports, and communications for internal and external audiences.
• Formalize frameworks for client engagements and educate Relationship Managers (RMs) on ESG, ESG Risk, and ESG risk assessment.
• Develop mitigation plans related to the implementation of the Principles for Climate-Related Financial Risks.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Finance, or Business Administration.
• CFA, SCR, or other ESG risk/climate risk certifications are advantageous.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or related fields, preferably within the Banking or Financial sector.
• Background in credit/risk, ESG, sustainable finance, or climate risk is essential.
• Strong understanding of Banking operations, risk management, and corporate governance.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing successful ESG processes and frameworks.
• Proficiency in Climate Risk, Net Zero, or Sustainable Finance.
