Associate/Lead Infant Teacher

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and nurturing Infant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for infants and a strong understanding of early developmental milestones. This role requires someone who is committed to creating a safe, loving, and stimulating environment where babies can thrive emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide responsive and individualized care for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months.
  • Create and maintain a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment that promotes development through age-appropriate activities and interactions.
  • Follow each child’s individual schedule for feeding, diapering, and napping.
  • Foster trusting relationships with children and families through daily communication and regular updates.
  • Maintain accurate records including attendance, feeding, diapering logs, and developmental observations.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and center staff to implement curriculum and daily routines.
  • Sanitize toys, equipment, and surfaces regularly in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Ensure licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and center policies are followed at all times.
  • Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress, needs, and milestones.
  • Support transitions between classroom activities and routines with patience and predictability.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting strongly preferred.
  • Must meet state licensing requirements for infant teachers (e.g., CPR/First Aid certification, background checks, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of infant development and best practices in early care and education.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, sit on the floor, and be active throughout the day.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to fostering a caring learning environment.

Work Environment:

  • Classroom setting with regular exposure to noise, cleaning products, and diapering situations.
  • Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, and engaging in play and movement activities with infants.
