Job Description:
The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a full-time Attorney to serve in the Criminal Division headquartered in Augusta. . The primary responsibility for this attorney will be the prosecution of tax and related financial crimes. This includes reviewing criminal investigations by the Criminal Investigative Unit at Maine Revenue Services (“CIU MRS”). The criminal tax prosecutor may also prosecute other types of cases such as unemployment fraud (including theft of benefits) and failure to pay worker’s compensation insurance, when evidence of those crimes is discovered during investigations by CIU MRS.
The Assistant Attorney General will be a full-time Trial Attorney who will be assigned to statewide prosecution of tax and related financial crimes.

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants should have an eye for legal detail, be interested in Maine tax statutes, have strong legal advocacy and writing skills, and have a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team. One to three years of legal practice with demonstrated proficiency in criminal law is preferred.
