Job Description:
The Office of the Attorney General has an opening for an Assistant Attorney General within the Criminal Division in Augusta. The position will primarily be located in Augusta, but covers the entire state. The position is responsible for supervising and prosecuting financial crimes and public corruption cases, prosecuting homicides, handling appellate work, and enforcing the Maine Civil Rights Act. The attorney in this position will handle a variety of responsibilities relating to all aspects of criminal prosecution. Five years of criminal law experience is required.

Minimum Qualifications:
This is not an entry level position. Applicants must be members of the Maine Bar in good standing, have a demonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team and work with complex state and federal law relating to criminal law and criminal procedure and have strong legal advocacy, research, and writing skills. Five years of prosecution experience is required. High ethical standards, sound judgment, strong communication and inter-personal skills, and good organizational and time management skills are essential.
