The Welding Automation Engineer is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining automated welding systems to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost-efficiency. The role involves working with robotic welding, automation equipment, and integration of welding systems across production lines.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated welding solutions

Analyze existing welding processes and identify opportunities for automation and optimization

Select appropriate welding parameters, fixtures, jigs, and tooling for automated applications

Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth system integration

Conduct trial runs, validation, and commissioning of welding automation systems

Ensure compliance with welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, ISO, etc.)

Monitor welding quality and resolve defects related to automation processes

Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and reports

Support vendor coordination, FAT/SAT, and procurement of automation equipment

Train operators and technicians on automated welding systems
