Reporting to the Associate Director for Athletic Communications, this position will serve within the Athletic Communications office with responsibilities across multiple sports, including football and select Olympic sports as assigned. The Athletic Communications Associate will assist in the day-to-day communications efforts for assigned programs, including media relations, content creation, and event coverage, while gaining exposure to the overall operations of a Division I athletic communications department.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department’s Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

The Athletic Communications Associate will be responsible for the following:
Assist with media relations efforts for assigned sports, including football and select Olympic sports, including writing and editing press releases, game previews and recaps, updating rosters and bios, and maintaining accurate statistics, records, and historical information.
Support home and select away events, including statistics coordination, media credentialing, postgame/meet results distribution, and serving as a point of contact for coaches, student-athletes, and media.
Assist with general Athletic Communications office duties, including archival projects, research, record-keeping, and support of additional sports and special projects as assigned.
Starting pay is $18.90/hr.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A minimum of one year of experience in a college or professional athletics communication office. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute. Some evening and weekend work required based on competition schedules.
