Summary
As an Attorney- Advisor at the GS-0905-13/14, you will be part of the Advice, Audits and External Reports Division (AAERD), Office of Communications and Legislative Affairs (OCLA), U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). If selected, you will serve as an Attorney-Advisor in AAERD performing a variety of assignments and duties.

Duties
- Advises the OCLA Director, OCLA Associate Director, and AAERD Director on policy and legal matters as they relate to applicable federal statutes and regulation.
- Assists in the development, administration, coordination, and execution of plans, policies, and procedures for the division.
- Assists in the overall effective discharge of OCLA functions.
- Briefs the OCLA Director, OCLA Associate Director, and AAERD Director on legal issues.
- Provides legal interpretations and recommendations on strategies and approaches to matters that are highly sensitive and of a critical nature.
- Proposes, implements and assists, from a legal standpoint, in the management of Commission plans for accountability reports and audits within OCLA’s jurisdiction, including reports and audits conducted by the Government Accountability Office.

Qualifications
For the GS-13: You must have earned a professional law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member of the BAR, and have two (2) years of professional legal experience with at least one year being equivalent to the GS-12 level.
For the GS-14:You must have earned a professional law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member of the BAR, and have three years of professional legal experience with at least one year being equivalent to the GS-13 level.
Professional legal education above the first professional law degree may be substituted for experience required as follows:(a) The second professional law degree (LL.M) may be substituted for one year of experience (b) The third law degree (J.S.D) may be substituted for one year of experience beyond the LL.M.

Attorneys appointed in the excepted service are required to maintain active membership in a bar within U.S. jurisdiction for the duration of their employment. Attorneys must provide documentation supporting active membership and good standing status (or equivalent) on at least an annual basis.

This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with the EEOC. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow the EEOC to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.

If your current grade is not your highest permanent grade held, submit a copy of an additional SF-50 showing your highest grade held.
