Responsibilities
- Develop detailed descriptions and metadata for auction items to facilitate accurate identification and retrieval
- Utilize databases and integrated library systems to input, update, and manage catalog records efficiently
- Conduct research on items to verify provenance, significance, and classification details
- Collaborate with curators and management to organize collections and prepare items for upcoming auctions
- Maintain meticulous records of cataloging activities, updates, and item statuses
- Assist in creating grant proposals or funding applications related to collection development or digitization projects
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries about cataloged items and auction details
Qualifications
- Proven experience with databases, metadata standards, and integrated library systems in a cataloging or research setting
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent writing skills for creating clear, detailed descriptions and reports
- Demonstrated leadership or management experience in a library, museum, or auction environment
