Job Summary
The AV Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining audio-visual equipment for meetings, events, conferences, and other productions. The role ensures seamless technical support for sound, video, lighting, and presentation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, test, operate, and dismantle AV equipment including:
- Microphones (wired & wireless)
- Speakers and sound systems
- Projectors and LED displays
- Video conferencing systems
- Lighting systems
- Provide on-site technical support during events and meetings.
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and connectivity issues promptly.
- Coordinate with event organizers, presenters, and IT teams.
- Maintain inventory of AV equipment and perform regular maintenance.
- Ensure proper cabling, power management, and safety compliance.
- Support live streaming and recording when required.
- Conduct pre-event system checks and post-event teardown.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma / Degree in Audio Engineering, Electronics, IT, or related field (preferred).
- 1–3 years of experience in AV setup and support (entry-level roles may require less).
- Strong understanding of:
- Sound systems and mixing consoles
- Video display systems
- Video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex)
- Basic networking for AV systems
- Knowledge of signal flow and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and equipment manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
