JOB SCOPE

To plan and execute the audits related to Technical Services & Operations of Airports Management, Ground Handling and Cargo Services to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assess and test controls to identify weaknesses or deficiencies in the infrastructure. Provide assurance, consultancy and recommendations on control deficiencies to the audit, risk & committee.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Contribute to the development of annual year risk-based audit plans and perform risk assessment and identification of potential auditable areas as required by audit standards.
  • Supporting the airport’s strategic objectives, plan and lead internal audits for technical services and operations departments.
  • Oversee audits across airside operations, terminal facilities, baggage handling, and other key areas to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency at Muscat and regional airports.
  • Assess process efficiency, compliance with policies, risk management practices, and internal controls in each function.
  • Develop and execute risk-based audit plans for technical services and operations side of the business
  • Ensure financial transparency, integrity, and adherence to group-wide standards within subsidiaries. Assess compliance with corporate governance frameworks, shareholder agreements, and performance targets.
  • Participate with ERM to conduct enterprise risk assessments specific to group services and subsidiaries, identifying emerging or business-critical risks.
  • Coordinate with ERM and user departments to ensure that the ERM risks flow into the Audit Universe
  • Advise leadership on control improvements, efficiency opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies in both corporate and subsidiary operations.
  • Present audit findings, risk insights, and recommendations to the Chief Audit Executive (CAE), senior executives, and Audit & Risk Committee.
  • Track and follow up on audit findings and agreed action plans to ensure timely resolution.
  • Promote continuous improvement across group services and subsidiaries by benchmarking best practices and providing value-added recommendations.
  • Encourage process automation, digitization, and stronger control environments through audit insights.
  • Manage and mentor a team of auditors assigned to group services and subsidiary reviews.
  • Ensure professional development, audit skill enhancement, and adherence to IIA standards within the team.
  • Communicate of audit reports to the concerned Divisions/Departments, discussing deficiencies in internal controls and recommendations .
  • Escalate critical operational risks to the CAE and ARC and Represent Internal Audit on technical risk matters.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management, Aviation Management, Mechanical Engineering or any relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years of related work experience in Technical & Operation audit with 3 - 4 years in supervisory level, preferable in aviation sector.
  • CIA, CFE is Mandatory for Non-Omani.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
