Position Overview:
The Audit Executive is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and reporting of internal and external audit activities. The role ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and accounting standards while supporting risk management and control improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:Internal Audit Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing annual internal audit plans and schedules.
- Conduct internal audits across departments to assess compliance with policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Review financial, operational, and administrative processes for effectiveness and efficiency.
- Perform risk assessments and identify areas of control weaknesses or non-compliance.
- Prepare working papers, audit evidence, and documentation as per internal audit standards.
- Draft internal audit reports, highlighting findings, gaps, and recommendations for improvement.
- Follow up on audit observations to ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Support management in strengthening internal controls and developing SOPs.
External Audit Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating with external auditors during annual or interim audits.
- Prepare and provide required financial data, ledgers, schedules, and supporting documents.
- Respond to external auditors’ queries and ensure timely submission of information.
- Support the reconciliation of financial statements and audit schedules.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, IAS, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Participate in resolving audit issues raised by external auditors and help implement recommendations.
General Duties:
- Maintain accurate audit records and ensure audit data confidentiality.
- Conduct surprise audits, stock counts, cash counts, and asset verification.
- Analyze processes to detect fraud, inefficiencies, and operational weaknesses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for data collection and process review.
- Stay updated on audit best practices, regulatory changes, and financial standards.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of internal control systems and risk assessment techniques.
- Sound knowledge of internal audit methodologies and external audit processes.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (IFRS/IAS).
- Proficiency in MS Excel, accounting software, and audit tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
- Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field (B.Com/M.Com/BBA/BS).
- Part-qualified CA, ACCA, or CMA (preferred).
