JOB SCOPE

To plan and execute the audits related to Airports Operation to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Assess and test controls to identify weaknesses or deficiencies in the infrastructure and systems. Provide assurance, consultancy and recommendations on control deficiencies to the audit, risk & committee.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead Oversee audits across airside operations, terminal facilities, baggage handling, and other key areas to ensure compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency at Muscat and regional airports.
  • Analyze Operational KPIs, assess facility uptime, asset utilization, energy consumption, and maintenance effectiveness. Recommend strategies to optimize performance and reduce costs.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance to ICAO, IATA, and local civil aviation regulations, ensuring safety protocols, emergency procedures, and security measures meet industry standards.
  • Review audits of firefighting equipment, emergency lighting, evacuation protocols, airside vehicle management, and security systems for regulatory compliance and operational readiness.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of contracts and service agreements for operational services (e.g., ground handling, maintenance, security) and ensure compliance with SLAs and vendor expectations.
  • Oversee audits of critical systems (SCADA, BMS, baggage handling, airfield lighting, automated boarding) to ensure optimal, secure, and efficient functioning.
  • Identify operational risks and assess the effectiveness of internal controls. Recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance operational resilience.
  • Lead investigations into operational failures, delays, or breakdowns, performing detailed analysis and providing actionable recommendations for service improvement.
  • Prepare clear audit reports with findings and recommendations. Track the implementation of corrective actions and report progress to senior management.
  • Manage and execute special assignments related to Operations as requested by audit management.
  • Present audit findings to senior audit management and CAE and provide recommendations to related stakeholders.
  • Follow up on recommendations and generate progress report on implementation of recommendations based on agreed upon timeline.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operation Management, Engineering or any relevant field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience in airports operation audit with 3 - 4 years in supervisory level, preferable in aviation sector.
  • CIA, CISA or CFE is Mandatory.
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
