Auto Damage Appraiser

ClaimSolution is hiring an auto damage appraiser.

Auto Damage Appraisers are responsible for inspecting and estimating the cost or value of an insured item. Timely completion of reports after inspection are necessary, 24 hours is expected. Estimates will be written using CCCone Estimating Software provided by our company. The appraisers who excel are detail oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills and are capable of working independently. Appraisers create their own schedule with vehicle owners and have flexible working schedules. We work in a fast-paced, changing, customer-driven work environment and employees must adapt to the business needs.

***This is not an entry level position & only those with experience within the insurance industry or auto collision repair shop as an appraiser or estimator will be considered***.

*Primary responsibilities and expectations

• Appraise items or automobiles to estimate cost or value insured item or items.
• Inspect damaged vehicles after an accident and estimate the cost of repairs.
• Provide accurate forms and files per insurance company instructions.
• Visit the vehicle location to examine the vehicle original and supplements.
• Take clear pictures of damages, required photo set provided.
• Generate estimates on standard estimating software (provided).
• Estimate parts and labor to repair damage, using standard automotive labor and parts-cost manuals and knowledge of automotive repair.
• Provide a detailed summary report of the inspection and repair estimate.
• Refer a claim to the investigator if fraud is suspected.
• Involve management if disagreements arise with the body shop or you are unable to negotiate repairs/labor rates.
• Provide accurate condition and options form for total-loss vehicle valuation process.
• Provide daily status in management system for all open files
• Provide daily status updates for all open supplements
• Contact owner w/in 24 hours of receipt of assignment notification
• Document files in management system thoroughly, every 24 hours unless otherwise noted (heavy equipment every 72 hours)
• Complete estimates within 24 hours of standard auto inspection
• Possibly travel outside of normal territory for CAT or staff coverage as needed

*Physical Requirements:

• Walking, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing ladders to inspect roof damages
• Able to lift up to 75lbs repeatedly (heavy equipment hoods for example)
• Drive in vehicle for extended hours at a time
• Sit at desk writing estimates for extended amount of time
• Repeated entry into pickup beds
• Use step stool repeatedly throughout day
• Walk on elevated surface i.e. RV roof

Salary: $44,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year. Pay is based on production.
