Job Title: Auto Electrician
Location: Belton Doncaster Salary: £14.92 - £ 16.00 Hours: Full-time, 39 hours Mon – Thur.
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Auto Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems in a wide range of vehicles. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring, lighting, and electronic systems in vehicles
- Fit and repair vehicle alarms, tracking systems, radios, and additional electrical accessories
- Inspect and test electrical components to ensure proper functioning
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Replace faulty parts such as alternators, starters, batteries, and sensors
- Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and parts used
- Provide technical support and advice to colleagues and customers
- Keep the workshop clean, safe, and compliant with company procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or similar role
- Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and diagnostics
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documents
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Competent with diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
- Full UK driving licence preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Auto Electrical or equivalent
- Experience with modern vehicle electronics, CANbus systems, or EV/hybrid technology
- Additional certifications in diagnostics or electrical safety
