Auto Electrician

Job Overview

Pay $550-600 A DAY

We are seeking a master-level Custom 12V Electrical Technician to lead the fabrication, installation, and advanced diagnostics of bespoke electrical architectures for luxury vehicle cabins (Mercedes Sprinter). This role is designed for a technical expert who excels in foundational electrical theory and thrives in a custom build environment where standard OEM schematics are typically unavailable. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of electrical logic and is highly proficient in reverse-engineering complex, custom circuits using standard diagnostic tools such as multimeters, power probes, and oscilloscopes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Custom Fabrication & Wiring: Design, build, and route high-quality, reliable wiring harnesses from scratch for VIP cabin amenities and custom integrations.
  • Advanced Diagnostics: Troubleshoot and resolve intermittent electrical faults (including voltage drops, high resistance, and ground issues) on custom, aftermarket 12V and 24V systems.
  • Luxury Component Integration: Wire, test, and seamlessly integrate heavy-duty motorized seating, automated partition walls, motorized tables, and specialized actuator systems.
  • Bespoke Cabin Lighting: Install and manage complex secondary lighting networks, including fiber-optic starlight ceilings, RGB/LED ambient accent lighting, and custom dimming modules.
  • Power Distribution Management: Build out robust auxiliary power banks, lithium battery systems, high-amperage relay blocks, fuse panels, and inverters capable of handling high-amperage electrical loads.
  • Quality Assurance: Systematically test every circuit under full operational load prior to vehicle completion to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of advanced 12V/24V electrical experience. Backgrounds in Master-Level Marine Electronics, Motorsport/Race Team Wiring, Custom Van/Coachbuilding, or Custom Hot Rod/Restomod Fabrication are highly valued.
  • Diagnostic Mastery: Complete proficiency with a multimeter, power probe, and oscilloscope. Ability to safely isolate circuit failures behind premium materials and custom upholstery without compromising high-end finishes.
  • Circuit Design: Strong ability to design robust relay circuits, properly calculate wire gauges for heavy mechanical loads, and utilize high-quality terminal connections (such as Deutsch or Molex).
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working independently on bespoke, one-off projects where troubleshooting requires critical thinking and foundational engineering rather than standard service manuals.
  • Attention to Detail: Clean, organized, and secure wire routing that protects circuits from vehicle vibration, transit stress, and moving mechanical components.

Pay: $550.00 - $600.00 per day
