Responsibilities
Technical responsibilites
- Identify and diagnose electrical problems in vehicles, including issues with lighting, ignition, charging, and electronic control systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to pinpoint the root causes of electrical malfunctions.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical components such as alternators, starters, batteries, wiring harnesses, fuses, relays, sensors, and switches.
- Install and integrate new electrical components, accessories, and aftermarket devices (e.g., audio systems, alarms, GPS systems) into vehicles.
- Use specialized software and tools to diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to vehicle electronic control units (ECUs) and onboard computer systems.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning connections, checking battery health, and inspecting wiring integrity.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Formal training or certification in automotive electrical systems is preferred.
General Responsibilities
- Conduct routine checks and inspections of electrical systems to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
- Understand and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams to identify circuits and components.
- Ensure that all electrical repairs and installations adhere to safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostic procedures, repairs, and parts used.
- Interact with customers to understand their concerns and explain the diagnosis and
- recommended repairs in a clear and understandable manner.
- Proven experience as an auto electrician or similar role.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and other specialized equipment.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and components.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to automotive electrical work.
