Position Summary
The Auto Liability Adjuster – Bodily Injury (Non–Attorney Represented) is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of auto liability claims involving bodily injury exposures where claimants are not represented by legal counsel. This role requires strong liability analysis, damage evaluation skills, and effective negotiation techniques while maintaining compliance with state regulations, company guidelines, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
· Investigate and manage auto liability claims with bodily injury exposure (non–attorney represented) from initial notice through final resolution
· Conduct thorough liability investigations, including review of police reports, statements, loss facts, coverage analysis, and applicable state laws
· Evaluate bodily injury claims, including medical records, billing, treatment causation, and damages (general and special)
· Determine fault and apply comparative negligence standards as applicable
· Establish and adjust reserves appropriately in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines
· Negotiate settlements directly with claimants in a fair, timely, and professional manner
· Explain coverage decisions, liability positions, and settlement rationale clearly to claimants and insureds
· Timely document all claim activity, decisions, and communications in the claim system
· Ensure compliance with state Department of Insurance regulations and internal claim handling standards
· Meet or exceed operational metrics, including closure ratios, diary compliance, customer contact standards, and timeliness benchmarks
· Provide high-quality customer service while balancing cost control and claim resolution effectiveness
Required Qualifications
· 4+ years of auto liability claims experience, including bodily injury claim handling
· Demonstrated experience handling non–attorney represented BI claims independently
· Strong understanding of auto liability coverage, negligence principles, and damages evaluation
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
· Ability to analyze complex fact patterns and make sound claim decisions
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a high-volume caseload
· Proficient in claims management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
· Active Texas Adjuster License
· Prior experience handling moderate to complex BI exposures
· Familiarity with Texas auto liability laws and comparative negligence standards
· Experience working in a performance-driven claims environment with measurable KPIs

Pay: $58,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
