Job Purpose:
To perform mechanical repairs, maintenance, and servicing of BAIC vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards, ensuring high-quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and workshop efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Vehicle Diagnosis and Repair
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues in BAIC vehicles, including engine, transmission, suspension, steering, brakes, and air conditioning systems.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and preventive servicing as per company and manufacturer guidelines.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify technical issues accurately.
- Ensure all repairs are completed within specified timeframes and quality standards.
2. Workshop Operations
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for job card management, parts requests, and repair documentation.
- Coordinate with the Service Advisor and Workshop Supervisor for job updates and approvals.
- Ensure the correct use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the assigned work area.
3. Quality and Safety Compliance
- Perform quality checks on completed jobs before vehicle delivery.
- Adhere to BAIC’s service standards and health & safety regulations.
- Report any safety hazards, faulty tools, or equipment malfunctions immediately to the Workshop Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and waste disposal regulations.
4. Customer Service Support
- Support the Service Advisor in explaining technical issues or repair requirements when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative attitude when dealing with customers and team members.
- Strive to achieve high customer satisfaction ratings through quality service and attention to detail.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Attend technical training sessions conducted by BAIC or the company to stay updated on latest models and technologies.
- Suggest improvements to enhance workshop efficiency and repair turnaround time.
- Share technical knowledge with junior mechanics or apprentices as part of skill development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma or Certificate in Automobile Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an Auto Mechanic, preferably in a dealership environment.
- Prior experience working with Chinese vehicle brands (MG, Changan, GAC, etc.) will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic systems.
- Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
