AutoCAD Draftsman / Draftsman

The ideal candidate will have at least years of experience working in the structural steel industry. Would consider someone with less experience if they have worked on similar projects.

Duties:

As an experienced Draftsman, you will be responsible for the following:

• Using Tekla to model structures from engineer’s design and arrangement drawings
• Adding connections as detailed in the engineers’ calculations
• Generating both general arrangement and fabrication drawings
• Producing information packs for fabrication including assembly drawings, CAM data and material lists
• Work closely with our Contract teams to raise technical queries and ensuring all project requirements are fulfilled
• Read and understand structural engineers’ and architect’s general arrangement drawings, design reports & specifications

The Candidate

Applicants will be required to demonstrate:

• Minimum 1 year of experience using AutoCAD within the architectural metalwork/ structural steelwork industry
• Detailing from design team drawings to produce fabrication packages and issuing to the workshop.
• The requirement to work in tight programs and the ability to work under pressure.
• Able to communicate with Client Engineers and Architects directly, ensuring all queries are dealt with swiftly
• Ensure that all models and drawings are detailed to current specs, with a working knowledge of current regulations and codes
• Good timekeeping and project management skills.
