Job Overview:
As an AutoCAD Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing electrical system designs, specifically focusing on switchgear products and related components. Your role will involve close collaboration with engineers, product designers, and project managers to ensure that designs are accurate, meet industry standards, and align with client specifications. You will also be involved in creating detailed drawings, schematics, and layouts using AutoCAD software, contributing to the successful execution of switchgear projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop detailed AutoCAD drawings for switchgear products, including electrical schematics, layouts, panel designs, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and other team members to understand project requirements and design specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical engineering standards, codes, and industry regulations.
  • Revise and modify designs as required based on client feedback, project changes, or technical improvements.
  • Conduct thorough checks of drawings for accuracy, completeness, and quality control.
  • Create BOMs (Bill of Materials) and technical documentation for designs, ensuring all components are specified correctly.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to the production team during the manufacturing process.
  • Assist in the preparation of design proposals, technical reports, and presentation materials for clients.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Continuously improve design processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and innovation within the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, AutoCAD advancements, and best practices in electrical design.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in AutoCAD design, with a focus on electrical systems and switchgear components.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and industry regulations (e.g., IEC, ANSI, UL).
  • Familiarity with switchgear products and their design, operation, and integration in electrical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD software (2D and 3D).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with other design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit) is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in design work.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with switchgear design, electrical panel layouts, and power distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling and simulation software.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and materials used in switchgear production.
