AutoCAD Draftsman ( Jr Level)

Job Description:

• Assist in the preparation of 2D civil engineering drawings including basic site plans, utility layouts, and structural sketches under the guidance of senior draftsmen or engineers.
• Support the drafting team in developing layout plans for roads, drainage, and other infrastructure components.
• Collaborate with Civil Engineers and Senior Draftsmen to understand design instructions and project requirements.
• Ensure drawings are prepared in accordance with established drafting standards and project specifications.
• Make revisions to drawings based on engineer feedback or site updates.
• Organize and maintain project drawing files and related documentation efficiently.
• Perform basic quantity take-offs from drawings under supervision.
• Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and markups as required.
• Participate in design coordination meetings and contribute from a drafting perspective.
• Support in developing and maintaining drawing libraries, templates, and standard blocks.
• Maintain drawing version control and proper documentation of all changes.
• Provide general drafting support across multiple projects as needed.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma or Certification in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical field.
• 1–3years of experience as a Civil Draftsman or in a similar drafting role (internship or training experience acceptable).
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
• Familiarity with drafting software like Revit, SketchUp, or similar is a plus.
• Understanding of basic civil engineering and construction concepts.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and sketches.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Eagerness to learn and improve drafting skills.
• Good organizational and time management abilities.
• Ability to work well under supervision and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills.
