AutoCAD Engineer - Electrical
An electrical automation engineer with AutoCAD skills specializes in designing and implementing automated control systems, from initial schematics to final installation.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and drafting: Using AutoCAD Electrical to create detailed 2D and 3D drawings, including electrical schematics, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Automation system integration: Designing how electrical components interface with automated systems controlled by technologies like PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and SCADA.
- Documentation and reporting: Creating accurate project documentation such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire lists, and technical reports.
- Collaboration: Working with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and structural engineers, to ensure designs are accurate, coordinated, and meet project specifications.
- Standard compliance: Ensuring all electrical designs adhere to relevant industry and international standards (e.g., IEC, NFPA, IEEE).
- Troubleshooting and support: Providing technical support during the fabrication, assembly, and testing phases of control panels and automated systems.
Essential skills and qualifications:
- AutoCAD Electrical proficiency: Strong, demonstrated experience with AutoCAD Electrical is a primary requirement. Knowledge of automation-specific features like automatic wire numbering and reporting is critical.
- Electrical engineering foundation: A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field is typically required.
- Knowledge of automation: Understanding of industrial automation components, such as PLCs, sensors, switchgear, and control wiring practices.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to anticipate and resolve design conflicts and issues.
- Industry knowledge: Familiarity with the specific standards and practices of industries like manufacturing, oil and gas, or commercial construction.
- Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to produce accurate schematics and documentation that prevent errors during assembly and installation.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients, engineers, and manufacturing teams
Qualification: Diploma/ B. Tech. (Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Electronics).
