Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation systems, specifically within the Schneider Electric ecosystem. The ideal candidate will be responsible for complete lifecycle execution including design, engineering, configuration, testing, and commissioning of PLC, SCADA, VFD, and RTU-based solutions across industrial projects.

This role reports to the Project Manager and requires close coordination with the sales team for both pre-sales and post-sales support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using Schneider Electric PLCs (Modicon series – M340, M580)
• Develop PLC logic from scratch using IEC 61131-3 programming languages (LD, FBD, ST)
• Configure and develop SCADA systems (EcoStruxure / AVEVA Plant SCADA)
• Exposure to system architecture design, including control system and network architecture
• Perform configuration and commissioning of Variable Frequency Drives (Altivar series)
• Work with RTUs (SCADAPack / remote automation solutions) for remote monitoring and control applications
• Integrate automation systems with Historian and MES platforms
• Execute complete FAT preparation, client interfacing during FAT, and punch point closure
• Execute SAT and site commissioning activities independently
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PLC, SCADA, communication networks, and field devices
• Prepare detailed technical documentation including IO lists, FDS, SDS, FAT procedures, and as-built drawings
• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support to the sales team (solution discussions, technical clarifications, demos if required)
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams during project execution
• Ensure compliance with industrial standards and cybersecurity best practices (IEC 62443 awareness preferred)

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical / Instrumentation / Automation Engineering
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation projects
• Strong experience in:
• Schneider Electric PLC programming (EcoStruxure Control Expert / Unity Pro)
• SCADA development (EcoStruxure / AVEVA Plant SCADA)
• VFD configuration (Altivar drives)
• RTU configuration (SCADAPack preferred)
• Strong knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming standards
• Good understanding of industrial communication protocols, including:
• Modbus TCP/IP
• Modbus RTU
• Ethernet/IP
• (Knowledge of OPC UA / DNP3 is an advantage)
• Experience in 100% engineering and 100% commissioning roles
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and site execution
• Basic understanding of industrial networking and OT cybersecurity concepts

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to travel 30–50% across UAE for project execution and commissioning
• UAE driving license is preferred
• Ability to manage both engineering and on-site commissioning responsibilities end-to-end
