Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering and design, with expertise in various CAD software and a thorough understanding of industry standards. This role involves creating detailed designs and schematics for mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with ASME codes and standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation.
- Create and maintain accurate schematics and assembly drawings for mechanical systems.
- Conduct system design analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs.
- Apply GD&T principles to ensure precision in manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to define project requirements and specifications.
- Prepare technical documentation, including design reports and manuals, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Utilize Bluebeam and NavisWorks for project coordination and collaboration within the team.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and technologies to enhance design capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo, Autodesk Inventor, and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, system design, drafting techniques, and construction processes.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards relevant to mechanical engineering.
- Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes is preferred.
- Ability to create 2D animations for design presentations is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
