  R&D unit within KTI is responsible for developing Digital Services products such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services , Residential Flow and Partnership Ecosystem .

  IoT is a web portal application which connects the KONE Elevators & Escalators to the cloud. IoT connectivity and the Cloud platform where the data from the devices are stored to the cloud for the future data modelling and data trending purposes.

  Automation – Senior Test Engineer, IoT Provisioning ( CEP Tribe)

  to join our experts at the KONE R&D. You will work together with other professionals to develop advanced KONE digital solutions that leverage the latest in AWS cloud, devices and connectivity technologies.

  You are passionate about testing practices, always aiming for quality, on-time delivery and testing practices optimization.

  As Senior Test Engineer you will work in a highly motivated team in charge to test our IoT applications.

  Main responsibilities

  • Run automation scripts and manual testing for the new feature functionalities, including IoT remote device testing.
  • Maintain a structured and updated defect list, tracking fixes with development teams.
  • Ability to create and optimize automated test script to ensure a smooth testing pipeline.
  • Produce clear defect list and its impact during Production Deployment Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Be part of IoT Provisioning team, test the device software upload, reboot and log to the Cloud.
  • Maintain the hardware devices (test setup) in the lab adhering to the 5S Lab audit guidelines.
  • Responsible for automation test script development using Python and Robot Framework.
  • Ensure overall Application SW quality before releasing to next level of testing.
  • Propose new tools/techniques to develop the test automation capabilities further.
  • Create understandable, simple, scalable, and best quality automation test cases to verify and validate the software application quality.
  • Responsible for verifying and validating the software application quality.
  • Should support the development team to release the software on time.
  • Implement the new technique and innovative idea to reduce the test execution time and improve test quality.
  • Report the software defect in an acceptable way on time.
  • Review the test cases.

  To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering – EEE / ECE / E&I.
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Experience in Test Automation as Test case Developer from Web / IoT / Cloud domain using Python.
  • Experience in Python language.
  • Experience in Robot Framework & Selenium web driver.
  • Experience in CI/CD Tools Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions.
  • Experience in AWS cloud (basics like Cloud Practitioner).
  • Experience in requirements/defect reporting tools (Jira, Jama, Confluence).
  • Experience with testing results metrics, KPI and quality.
  • Experience in building, reviewing, and utilizing testing automated test script.
  • Expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Remote and IoT device physical testing
  • Hardware device integration testing.
  • Develop and maintain test environments; preferrable to have Hardware knowledge.
  • Maintain 5S & Safety work culture in Laboratory.
  • Experience and knowledge of working in a Lean & Agile team. Knowledge of agile methodologies is an asset.
  • Experience in test library development using python.
  • Familiar with Linux environment.
  • Good Understanding of SW testing life cycle.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
