Automobile A/C Technician

Job Title: Automobile A/C Technician
Department: Workshop/ Garage
Reports To: Workshop Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults in vehicle air conditioning and climate control systems.
• Repair and replace A/C components including compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, blowers, and hoses.
• Recover, evacuate, recharge, and test refrigerants using approved equipment.
• Detect and repair refrigerant leaks.
• Inspect and troubleshoot electrical and electronic components related to A/C systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of vehicle HVAC systems.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure proper cooling and airflow.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
• Maintain service records and report completed work accurately.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and company procedures.

Requirements

• Technical diploma or certification in Automotive Technology or Vehicle Air Conditioning.
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Vehicle A/C Technician.
• Strong knowledge of automotive air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
• Familiarity with refrigerant handling and recovery procedures.
• Proficient in using automotive diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification in Automotive HVAC/Air Conditioning Systems.
• Experience with multiple vehicle brands and models.
• Knowledge of modern automatic climate control systems.
