Automotive CAD Designer

We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to support the development and design of trailers, chassis, tanker structures, and heavy vehicle fabrication projects.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed engineering designs, 3D models, and fabrication blueprints for manufacturing use.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop trailer chassis, flatbeds, tankers, and structural frames
• Prepare 2D fabrication drawings and detailed blueprints
• Create 3D CAD models of vehicle structures
• Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) and material specifications
• Coordinate with fabrication workshop for production feasibility
• Ensure designs meet load capacity and structural safety requirements
• Modify designs based on site/fabrication feedback
• Support prototype development and improvements

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years experience in mechanical or structural design
• Experience in vehicle structures / steel fabrication / heavy equipment
• Strong proficiency in CAD/ CATIA V5 software:
• SolidWorks OR equivalent
• Ability to prepare fabrication-ready drawings
• Basic understanding of:
• Structural load distribution
• Welding & steel fabrication processes
• Material selection (MS steel, high-tensile steel, etc.)

• Welding & assembly drawings
• Material take-off list (BOM)
• Design revisions based on feedback

This role involves working on real fabrication and production projects, not only office-based drafting.
