Automotive Mechanic

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Automotive Technician to join our team at a high-volume, family-owned used car dealership. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure they meet our standards for safety, reliability, and performance.

Our inventory consists of a diverse selection of pre-owned vehicles across multiple makes, models, and model years. As a result, technicians will regularly work on a broad spectrum of mechanical systems and conditions, requiring strong diagnostic ability, adaptability, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities include performing inspections, identifying mechanical and electrical issues, completing repairs efficiently, and preparing vehicles for sale. Technicians play a key role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our inventory.

The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with varied and evolving repair needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections on incoming vehicles to assess mechanical and safety conditions
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues across a wide range of makes, models, and model years
  • Complete repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine components, and basic electrical systems
  • Prepare vehicles for sale by ensuring they meet dealership standards for safety, reliability, and drivability
  • Work on a diverse inventory of pre-owned vehicles, adapting to varying conditions and repair needs
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately identify issues and determine appropriate repairs
  • Communicate findings clearly with management and team members regarding needed repairs and timelines
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing repairs
  • Assist with prioritizing workload to keep up with a high-volume inventory

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across a variety of vehicle makes and models
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs, including brakes, suspension, engine work, and electrical systems
  • Comfortable working on a wide range of pre-owned vehicles with varying conditions and repair needs
  • Basic knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
