Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrains, suspensions, and steering systems to restore vehicle performance.
- Service brakes, including brake repair and replacement of shocks & struts, ensuring safety standards are met or exceeded.
- Carry out routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to prolong vehicle lifespan.
- Repair or replace auto body components and perform welding when necessary to restore vehicle integrity.
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks across various vehicle models, including GM vehicles.
- Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot complex automotive electrical systems and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Ensure all work complies with dealership standards and safety regulations while providing excellent customer service through clear communication of repairs needed.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
- Dealership experience is highly preferred for familiarity with manufacturer-specific procedures.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair, auto estimating, and auto body repair techniques is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience working with automotive electrical systems, ADAS calibration, and auto diagnosing tools.
- Familiarity with transmissions, powertrain components, alignment procedures, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts is essential.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize technical manuals effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for efficient repairs.
