We are looking for a skilled and reliable Automotive Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and electric vehicles (heavy focus on fleet units, panel vans, step vans, cuttaways, etc.). The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. You will play a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality repair services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and test drives.
- Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake checks, and fluid flushes.
- Repair or replace components including brakes, engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and heating/air conditioning systems.
- Accurately document work performed, including labor hours and parts used.
- Communicate findings and repair needs clearly with service advisors or customers.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay current on automotive technology, tools, and industry best practices.
- Ensure repairs meet quality and safety standards before releasing vehicles.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; automotive technical training or certification preferred.
- 2+ years of experience as an automotive mechanic or technician.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, repair manuals, and hand/power tools.
- Strong knowledge of gasoline engines, drive trains, and vehicle systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer-focused attitude.
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced, hands-on environment in a shop or garage setting.
- May involve working in awkward positions, exposure to loud noises, and handling of automotive fluids and chemicals.
- Overtime or weekend shifts depending on workload.
- May require working on the ground when lift space not available
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
