Overview
EXPERIENCED PEOPLE REQUIRED. We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Automotive Parts Manager to oversee the procurement, inventory, and distribution of automotive parts within our dealership or manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong supply chain management skills, a solid understanding of automotive diagnostics, and experience with warehouse operations. This role is essential in ensuring seamless parts availability, optimizing inventory levels, and maintaining excellent customer service standards. The Automotive Parts Manager will lead a team responsible for sourcing OEM parts, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating logistics to support automotive service and repair operations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire supply chain process for automotive parts, including procurement, sourcing, and demand planning.
- Manage supplier relationships to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring cost-effective purchasing strategies.
- Maintain accurate inventory control using ERP systems and order management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
- Coordinate shipping & receiving activities to ensure timely delivery of parts and manage warehouse operations efficiently.
- Supervise warehouse staff and ensure compliance with safety standards; operate equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics knowledge to verify parts compatibility and quality for repairs or manufacturing needs.
- Implement and monitor inventory management procedures to minimize stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Collaborate with automotive service teams to forecast demand and plan procurement accordingly.
- Maintain detailed data entry records for all transactions related to purchasing, inventory adjustments, and supplier communications.
- Ensure adherence to OEM specifications, dealership policies, and industry standards for quality assurance.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools for maintenance scheduling related to parts storage equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supply chain management within the automotive industry or related manufacturing sectors.
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, OEM parts sourcing, and automotive repair processes.
- Experience with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms (such as AS400), and order management systems.
- Proficiency in procurement management, negotiation skills, and demand planning strategies.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts safely; relevant certifications preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on internal teams and external suppliers.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and inventory control processes.
- Familiarity with logistics, sourcing strategies, shipping & receiving procedures, and equipment repair practices.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
