Automotive Service Manager

Duties

• Lead and manage the entire service department, including technicians, service advisors, and support staff, to ensure smooth daily operations
• Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance services such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
• Develop and implement effective upselling strategies to maximize service sales while maintaining integrity and customer trust
• Ensure all service work meets quality standards through regular inspections and adherence to manufacturer specifications
• Manage auto estimating and service writing processes to accurately document repairs and communicate with customers effectively
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and promote excellent customer service experiences that foster loyalty
• Monitor inventory levels of parts and tools necessary for efficient operations while managing cash handling procedures responsibly
• Stay current with automotive industry trends, technical advancements, and dealership best practices to continuously improve department performance

Qualifications

• Proven experience in dealership auto service management or a similar leadership role within an automotive repair environment
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on mechanic experience preferred; familiar with automotive diagnostics across various systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, tires, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
• Demonstrated ability in upselling services ethically while maintaining high customer satisfaction standards
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence
• Proficiency in auto estimating software and service writing procedures
• Knowledge of automotive repair procedures such as oil changes, alignments, tire services, brake repairs, diesel engine work and more
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; relevant certifications are a plus

Pay: $48,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
