Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using advanced automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various systems including powertrain, electrical, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on vehicles, including engine repairs, transmission work, wheel alignments, and suspension servicing.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems efficiently.
- Repair or replace components such as transmissions, diesel engines, sensors, wiring harnesses, and other critical parts with precision.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to execute repairs adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, brake services, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Assist with auto estimating processes by accurately assessing repair needs and communicating timelines to customers.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle serviced and ensure all work complies with dealership or shop standards.
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or extensive service technician background with a focus on automotive repair.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems, ADAS technology, schematics reading, and diagnostics tools.
- Mechanical knowledge spanning powertrains, transmissions, diesel engine repair, welding techniques, and general maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive service equipment.
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus; experience with auto estimating software is advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to clearly explain repairs and maintenance procedures to clients.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics quickly while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
