Automotive Technician – European Specialist (BMW / Porsche)

Job Summary

Lang Racing Development is a high-end European automotive repair and performance shop in Lake Forest, CA, specializing in BMW, Porsche, and other European vehicles. We are seeking an experienced European/BMW/Porsche Automotive Technician with at least 5 years of hands-on experience who can diagnose, repair, and maintain modern European vehicles to a high standard.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on European vehicles: BMW, Porsche, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Volkswagen and similar brands.
  • Perform digital vehicle inspections and accurately document findings and recommended repairs.​
  • Install suspension, chassis, and drivetrain components, including dampers, bushings, axles, differentials, and related parts.
  • Remove and install engines, transmissions, and other major components as needed.​
  • Assist with engine disassembly, cleaning, organization of parts, and preparation for engine rebuilds.​
  • Follow established workflows with the Service Manager and other team members to meet timelines and quality standards.
  • Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and safe, and follow shop procedures.​

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an Automotive Technician working on European vehicles required. (BMW, Porsche strongly preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and alignments.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and wiring diagrams and perform electrical diagnosis.​
  • Able to perform routine and advanced repairs: gaskets, sensors, cooling systems, drivetrain, and related systems.​
  • Proficient with computers and automotive software for diagnostics, documentation, and spreadsheets.​
  • Complete set of professional automotive tools.​
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.​
  • Reliably commute to Lake Forest, CA 92630, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM.​

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Prior experience in a European performance or motorsport-focused shop.
  • Experience with modern BMW and Porsche diagnostic platforms and scan tools.​
  • Alignment, corner-balancing, and suspension setup knowledge for performance applications.​
  • ASE certifications or manufacturer training a plus (BMW, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi).​

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
