Job Title: Head of SCM Operations Team (Sr. Manager) Team

Position Summary

The Head of SCM Operations Team will lead all on-site supply chain and yard management activities at the Manufacturing Plant in Ellabell, GA. This position will oversee shuttle operations, yard management, and sequencing of parts delivery to ensure uninterrupted service to the assembly line.

As the senior-most leader of SCM operations, the Head of SCM Operations Team is accountable for developing strategy, driving operational excellence, building and mentoring a high-performing team, ensuring strict compliance with safety standards, and maintaining strong partnerships, and other plant stakeholders. This role requires strategic leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate operational data into actionable business results.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Planning
  • Develop and execute the SCM operations strategy in alignment with goals.
  • Lead capacity planning, shuttle scheduling, and operational design to ensure uninterrupted supply to assembly lines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive cost efficiency, scalability, and long-term growth.
  • Oversee budgeting and P&L management for SCM operations.

2.Operations Management

  • Direct all yard, shuttle, and switching operations to achieve on-time and error-free delivery performance.
  • Establish KPIs and ensure consistent monitoring of operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of yard/shuttle equipment, including preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Manage returnable asset flows (carts, racks, dollies) and ensure inventory integrity.

3.Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a safety-first culture across all SCM operations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, CTPAT, and plant-specific regulations.
  • Oversee implementation of safety audits, training programs, and corrective actions.

4.People Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations managers, supervisors, and coordinators.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee performance reviews, succession planning, and leadership development for key talent.

5.Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the senior liaison with other key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships to support seamless communication and issue resolution.
  • Represent at executive-level meetings and provide regular operational performance updates.

6.Financial & Reporting

  • Own the SCM operations P&L, ensuring profitability and accurate forecasting.
  • Oversee weekly invoicing, settlements, and cost-control initiatives.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and analysis on performance, risk, and opportunities.

Job Qualifications & Requirements Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in supply chain/transportation/logistics operations
  • 7+ years in a senior managerial or leadership role within yard, shuttle, or automotive supply chain operations
  • Strong financial and P&L management experience
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and complex operations

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or MBA
  • Direct experience supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers
  • CDL-A license and hands-on operational experience in yard/shuttle environments

  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Expertise in yard/shuttle operations, sequencing, and plant logistics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP/logistics systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and lead through complexity.
  • Strong customer orientation and relationship management skills.
