Aviation Badging Coordinator

Job Description

The Aviation Badging Coordinator is responsible for administering and maintaining the airport security credentialing process in compliance with TSA, FAA, and local Airport Authority regulations. This role supports the full lifecycle of employee badging—including applications, fingerprints, training, badge issuance, renewals, audits, and access level modifications. The coordinator acts as the primary liaison between employees, company leadership, and airport security offices to ensure timely clearance and strict regulatory compliance.

Pay: $17.00 per hour.

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

401(k) – You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. Responsibilities

Security Credentialing & Compliance


  • Administer the entire airport badging process, including new applications, renewals, reprints, terminations, and access modifications.
  • Process fingerprints, CHRC (Criminal History Records Check), and STA (Security Threat Assessment) in accordance with TSA/49 CFR Part 1542 regulations.
  • Verify all required identification documents (e.g., I‑9 compliance, proof of work eligibility).
  • Ensure badges are issued only after all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Conduct badge accountability audits, track expiration dates, and maintain accurate records.
  • Immediately deactivate badges for terminations, lost badges, or security violations.
  • Assist with internal and external security audits conducted by the Airport Authority or TSA.


Employee Support & Customer Service


  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees regarding badge applications, appointments, training requirements, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate badge pickups, replacements, PIN resets, and access updates.
  • Educate employees on airport security rules, escort policies, sterile area requirements, and badge responsibilities.
  • Provide excellent customer service while managing high volumes of inquiries and walk‑ins.


Coordination & Documentation


  • Maintain secure and organized records in compliance with TSA record‑keeping mandates.
  • Track and report badge counts, expirations, failed STAs, and compliance metrics.
  • Coordinate closely with HR, hiring managers, training departments, and airport security offices.
  • Assist with access control system changes and ensure employees have proper permissions based on job duties.


Operations & Office Administration


  • Manage daily operations of the badging office or credentialing function.
  • Maintain inventory of badge materials, card stock, printers, and supplies.
  • Follow secure handling procedures for badges, printers, and sensitive information.


Qualifications

Education & Experience


  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience working in SIDA or AOA environments preferred.


Skills & Competencies


  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with credentialing systems, access control databases, and Microsoft Office.
