Role: AWS Data Engineer
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Day 1 onsite, minimum 3 days office)
Duration: Long term contract

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree with 13-15+ years of experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure on AWS.
• Work with relational databases such as Amazon Aurora and serverless technologies like AWS Lambda.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across projects.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues with a problem-solving mindset.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience with AWS services (e.g., Lambda, Aurora, S3, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Experience leading data engineering teams or projects.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications: not mandatory

• Experience or Knowledge with AWS EMR and AWS Glue is a plus.
• Familiarity with Java for backend or data pipeline development.
• Experience with OpenSearch or similar search technologies.
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL frameworks, and performance tuning.
