Job Title: Azure Data Engineer
Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with strong expertise in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, and advanced SQL. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and data warehouse solutions in Azure cloud environments. This role requires hands-on experience in ETL development, data modeling, performance optimization, and version-controlled data engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Pipeline Development
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Develop and optimize data transformation workflows in Azure Databricks.
- Integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
- Ensure reliable data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
Data Warehouse & Architecture
- Build enterprise-level data warehouse solutions using Azure SQL and Databricks.
- Design dimensional models, star/snowflake schemas, and data marts.
- Implement data governance, quality checks, and validation rules.
- Optimize query performance and storage strategies.
SQL & Data Optimization
- Write advanced SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Perform performance tuning and query optimization.
- Manage indexing strategies and data partitioning techniques.
- Support complex joins, aggregations, stored procedures, and views.
Cloud & DevOps Practices
- Use GitHub for version control and code management.
- Implement CI/CD processes for data pipelines.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams for automated deployment and monitoring.
- Follow best practices in code reviews and documentation.
Visualization & Reporting Support
- Support integration with visualization tools (Power BI or similar).
- Prepare curated datasets for reporting and analytics.
- Ensure data consistency across BI dashboards and reports.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience working with Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- 3+ years of advanced SQL development experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Azure SQL.
- Strong experience building enterprise-level data warehouse projects.
- Proficiency with GitHub for version control.
- Solid understanding of ETL processes and data warehouse concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of performance tuning in large-scale data environments.
- Experience with Delta Lake architecture.
- Exposure to data governance and security best practices.
