Azure DevOps Engineer (Administration & CI/CD Governance)

We are seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in Azure DevOps administration, CI/CD pipeline optimization, governance, and Azure cloud services. The ideal candidate will manage enterprise-scale DevOps environments, ensure compliance and security standards, optimize build/release pipelines, and lead high-severity production incidents while collaborating with customers in the US time zone.

1. Azure DevOps Administration & Governance

• Administer and manage enterprise-scale Azure DevOps organizations and project structures.

• Define and enforce repository policies (branching strategies, PR approvals, build validations).

• Implement and manage role-based access control (RBAC), security groups, and permission governance.

• Establish audit mechanisms and ensure compliance with enterprise security standards.

• Maintain service connections, repositories, artifacts, and test management configurations.

2. CI/CD Pipeline Optimization & Agent Governance

• Design, build, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using YAML-based configurations.

• Improve pipeline performance, caching, parallelization, and artifact management.

• Govern and manage agent pools (Microsoft-hosted and self-hosted; legacy and modern).

• Manage agent image updates, patching, lifecycle management, and scaling strategies.

• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures and deployment bottlenecks.

3. Azure Cloud Integration

• Integrate pipelines with core Azure services such as:

  • Azure Key Vault for secrets management

  • Azure App Service for application hosting

  • Azure Service Bus for messaging solutions

• Ensure secure service connections and environment configurations across subscriptions.

• Implement best practices for infrastructure-as-code and release automation.

4. Incident Management & Operational Excellence

• Lead high-severity (P1/P2) incident response and root cause analysis.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams during critical production outages.

• Drive post-incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Ensure high availability and reliability of DevOps platforms.
